“Stir in me a love that’s sweet, a love that’s wide a love that’s deep; and help me Lord to never keep it to myself.”
Pangshua and Josh. They reflect the heart of the Lord with the most steady, kind and grace-filled love. Pangshua contacted me over a year ago (when I hardly felt worthy of holding the title photographer) with an email that brought me to tears. She was one of the first to help me see this call on my life and I don’t even think she knows it. As I sat alone at Starbucks in the little town of Aberdeen, NC, I poured into a lengthy email from a precious stranger, telling me all about her life and her love for the man below. It was as though I was catching up with a long time friend as she shared with me their struggles and triumphs. Loss. Heartbreak. What they’ve overcome. How the Lord has shown up over and over again in their lives and their relationship. About how she didn’t have a professional photographer at her wedding, and more than anything she wanted pictures to celebrate their anniversary. I remember being so amazed by her heart and her story and feeling so honored to help be the one to tell it.
After rain dates and busy schedules it was almost a year later, but we finally made this happen at the same spot Josh proposed in Valle Crucis. I was so blessed by these two, from that first email to the time they booked me a surprise hotel room in Boone (yes they’re angels)!
My heart for my couples is simply this: To know you, to celebrate with you, to grieve with you, to cry and laugh with you, to pray with you, to encourage you, and to love you. Because that’s when the magic happens. It’s when the most beautiful, real moments and all the hallelujahs happen. Thank you Jesus for these two.
