To me you will run; my beloved, you’ve captured my heart.” -Kim Walker Smith

Never could I have imagined I’d be standing in a field one day with this dear friend in a white dress, me of all people taking her bridal portraits. This precious one and I traded secrets and sleepovers from the third grade on, and this past weekend I stood by her side as she married her high school sweetheart. After the rain held off all day long leading up to the ceremony, the most peaceful of showers started falling the moment she made it down the aisle to her groom. Talk about teary eyes. Like affirmation from heaven, Jesus just poured all the blessing down on them that day. And all I could think about was how did we get here. From 9-year olds playing softball, sleeping bags in the living room floor, to this. From algebra class and hearing all about Ben, to watching them speak sweet vows to one another. All these moments we couldn’t wait to get to, only way better than we planned. God is so kind and makes me laugh with the small unexpected ways He chooses to delight our hearts.

Today I’m thankful for fifteen years of friendship and the most gorgeous bride to stand next to.

Congrats Mrs. Everly, I love you so.
