Through it all my eyes are on you, and through it all it is well. -Kristene Dimarco
Where do I even begin. The day my sweet friend Christina asked me to photograph her wedding was one I’ll never forget. Not only is she a gifted photographer who I get to laugh through receptions with and walk through life and business with– she’s also the most humble, encouraging, loyal, kindhearted, and compassionate friend. We’ve journeyed through the joys and hardships of entrepreneurship together, we’ve cheered each other on over one too many coffee dates, and this time she was the one entrusting me with her most sacred day. Being a part of this season with her not only grew us closer but allowed me to help her plan, envision, and dream up the tiny details that would make this celebration become a reality. Being witness to the way she treated wedding planning as a labor of love, and seeing those visions come to life was such a joy. Some of my favorite moments + details included:
the sweet ways she longed to honor her grandma Kate.
the bouquets she handmade with her bridesmaids.
the gift of a journal that she began writing to andrew the week they got engaged.
the look on andrew’s face when he first saw her.
their emotional dances with their parents.
the tiny, precious church they said their long-awaited vows in.
Speaking of long-awaited, these two dated nine whole years. And while this day was nearly a decade in the making, this story has only begun.
Here’s to a new anniversary to celebrate, sweet friends.
